BLOCK HYBRID ADAMS MOULTON METHODS FOR THE SOLUTION OF HOLLING TANNER MODEL

Abstract


Block hybrid Adams Moulton (BHAM) methods have proved successful for the solution of stiff and non stiff initial value problems of ordinary differential equations.This paper investigates the suitability of the BHAM  for the solution of the Holing Tanner  predator-prey models with initial conditions   which essentially is described as a two dimensional  system of ODE with quadratic and  rational nonlinearities.Solution using the BHAM shows that it is efficient and compares favourably with the inbuilt Matlab ODE solver,ODE45 which has been known to solve nonlinear equations effectively.
